Math Counts in the Real World
Resources to Promote Math Skills in the FACS Classroom

"Math Counts in the Real World" focuses on providing technical and academic standards-based math activities for Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) classrooms. The project was funded through a 2004-2005 South Dakota Carl Perkins Reserve Fund Grant. Math problems, scenarios, and projects were developed for six of the seven comprehensive family and consumer sciences areas and three of the occupational areas. The website contains a page for each of the content areas. These areas and their corresponding link include:

Most of the files are in pdf format, but those files which students could complete electronically are provided in Word format.
